United  States  of  America's  Gross  National  Product (GNP)  in  the  year  2001-2002  was  U.S$10000  Billion -  10  Trillion  Dollars  . This  is  roughly  40%  of  world's Gross  national  product . USA  is  home  to  mere  4% of  world  population

Whatever  be  the thirst  for  money  of  this  bigwigs  .. when  it  comes  to  helping  fellow  Americans  they  are  second  to  none  in  fact  they  are  the  numero  uno .  For  example  Bill Gates of  Microsoft  may  be  a  ruthless  businessman   -  his  thirst  for  money  and  crushing  competition  may  be  unprecedented .. he  may  be  worth  50 Billion  Dollars  now  ...  his  company  may  be  generating  8  Billion  Dollars  cash  profit  every  year  . BUT    not  many  may  know  that  Bill Gates  in  his  personnel  capacity  has many  Philanthropic  institutions which  have  been  assigned  most  of  his  property  -  that  is   to  assist  fellow  Americans  in  need . 
Hundreds  of  thousands  are  benefiting  in  some  way  or  the  other  from  Bill  Gates  foundation -  ranging  from  Medical  aid   to  educational  scholarships .
Same  is  the  case  with  CNN's  Ted  Turner  who  has  pledged  10  Billion  Dollars  to  various  Grant  making  institutions  and  George  Soros  a  wall  street  Shark  who  has  contributed  Billions  of  dollars  in  Grants  and  Scholarships .
Similarly  Big  Companies  -  companies  like  Morgan  Stanley  ,Merril  Lynch  etc.  may  be  Financial  sharks  generating  Billions  of  dollars  of  cash profit  every  year . But  they  have  also set  apart  Billions  to  help  fellow  Americans .

The  rich  of  America  have  one  thing  in  contrast  as  against  those  in  Europe  , Japan or  Asia  . That  is  they  pass  on  only a  part  of  their  wealth  to  next  generation -  their  sons  and  daughters  but  a major  chunk of  it  is  given  to  various  institutions  to  help  fellow  Americans .
They  realize  that  if  Health  care  ,educational  and  seed  capital  needs  of  fellow  Americans  are  taken  care  of  their  living  standards  will  automatically  raise .

Big  Companies  and  individuals  have  realized  that  it  is  their  duty  to  help  fellow  Americans  . In  this  time  of  corporate  down sizing  and  job  shifting  to  cheaper  destinations   -  ordinary  Americans  have  been  left  with  little  financial  powers  while  the Corporate  are  generating  higher and  higher  profits  every  year 

Big  companies and high  net worth  individuals  also  gain  by  setting  apart a  portion of  their  wealth  and  profit   of  Dollars  to  help  fellow  Americans -  It  enhances  their  prestige   as  well  as  giving  them  huge  tax  advantage  -  Yes major  portions  of  amount  spent  to  help  American  citizens  are  tax  deductible . Government  of  America  acknowledges  the  effort  of  corporates  and  Private  institutions  to  help  fellow  Americans
